With gratitude to God and deep appreciation for a lifetime of faithful ministry, we warmly invite you to join us for a special celebration honoring the 40th Anniversary of the Ordination of Rev. Holly Haile Thompson, D.D., the first Native American woman ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

For four decades, Rev. Thompson has faithfully served congregations and communities with courage, compassion, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her ministry has touched countless lives and represents a significant and enduring legacy within the life of the Church.

As colleagues, friends, church leaders, and partners in ministry, we gather to give thanks to God for her faithful witness, leadership, and service across generations.

We hope you will join us for this meaningful occasion of worship, thanksgiving, remembrance, and celebration as we honor a remarkable servant of Christ and celebrate God’s faithfulness through her life and ministry. “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” — Isaiah 12:3

If you would like to honor Holly with a financial gift, we invite you to do so above. All donations received through the Synod will be presented on the day of the celebration.

We are also collecting celebratory messages for Holly (e.g. works of congratulations, acknowledgement, a memory, a tribute. You can also be creative! - a song, a poem, etc.) to present to her as part of the celebration. Recordings are preferred - using your phone is perfectly fine, just please record your video in landscape/with your phone horizontal not vertical - and written messages or digital art are also welcome.
